Online guitar lessons are sometimes not very helpful... why not look into using an instructor instead? If your short on cash, or just aren't interested, here's a more helpful website that can teach you the basics.

I play guitar also, and know for a fact that it is kinda tough to display all the information you need, and to explain it well online.

Also, see if you can learn these three notes, and then play the following song.

In guitar your fingers are numbered 1-4. Your pointer finger is 1, your middle finger is 2, your ring finger is 3, and your pinky is 4. Your thumb will rest on the other side of your guitar, (the side that is facing your body) and the numbered fingers will be used to play the strings. Think Your ready for some notes? Here they are!

E- Play the first string, open. (with no fingers on any frets)
F- Play the first string with finger 1 on the first fret
G- Play the first string with finger 3 on the third fret

Now see if you can play this simple song only using those three notes you've just learned.

E, F, G. G, F, E. E, E, E, E, G, G, G, G, E, F, G.

You look up on the internet what the notes actually look like if you were to play them using musical notes. If you don't know what frets are, you can look those up too. You'll also learn more about musical terms like, forte, piano, cresendo, and decresendo. Soon you'll be off to a great start! Wishing you the best of luck,

Take guitar lessons from a competent teacher. Put your guitar in a spot where you practice it at least a little every time you can see it. And be patient - it takes a while to learn how to play the guitar. I've been playing for a long time, and I'm still learning new things.

Youtube is great for guitar lessons. Just a note though... I've been playing guitar for 21 years and I got to a certain point and then didn't really improve until I got lessons with a teacher

erhm.. i learned how to play a guitar on my own in 2 weeks... all i used was a book with the basic guitar chords, then proceeded to more complex chords. i'm surprised you haven't got the hang of it yet. if you're determined to learn you would learn it in no time. it's really easy. sorry to have attacked you with criticisms.
buy a "guitar for begginer's" book from your bookstore. and if it doesn't help. ask your parents to fund lessons for you. lol.
