use turpentine oil or kerosene oil to wipe it of and you get stain removers in paint shops try them and they will not damage the polish of the furniture

I have had a lot of luck with product called OOPS. You will find it in the paint remover section of a hardware store in a white tin. It smells rather stout, but removes paint, gum and a whole lot of other misc. spots that nothing else would in my home. Test on a hidden area tho, first.

a spot will pop off with a fingernail. a lot of paint is different. if its latex paint over a shiny surface try a kitchen scouring pad made of plastic mesh and water. the shiny surface should have stopped it from soaking in.
