Do you have any antivirus software? Run a virus scan. Also get a program called Adaware, it can find and delete adware and spyware that can be slowing down your computer.

Do a Disk Cleanup in the System Tools Menu under the Accessories Menu.
Then do a Disk Defragmenter on it.
Then run a virus scan.
Try to download a free version of spyware software. Spybot is a good one. That will get rid of unnessary spyware.
Also go to Control Panel and Add/Remove programs and see what programs are installed on your computer. Check for things you don't remember installing and remove them.

Go down the checklist:
1. Spyware/adware search. Delete cookies and temporary files to get rid of spyware.
2. Update virus software and do a virus scan. Look up the right way to clean any viruses you find.
3. Defrag your hard drive. Check and see how fragmented the drive is (you can go to Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools? - Defrag. If the drive is heavily fragmented, you might save as much as you can of your data (get a bunch of CDRWs so you can reuse them) and then reformat your drive and reinstall.

It's likely that you have spyware or adware on your computer. First step is to go to http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1 and download Ad-Aware. When you run it, click "Check for Updates" to download the latest spyware definitions, then do a full scan on your computer. After the scan, you'll be given a list of checkboxes. Right click and choose "select all", then click next to remove all of the malware. When you're through, scan again to be sure.
If you want to REALLY be sure, after you scan/remove with Ad-Aware, you should try another adware removal program like Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html) as not all adware removal programs remove 100% of the bad software.
I'd recommend scanning with Ad-Aware at least once a month, especially if you have teenagers using the computer. (In my experience, they're the worst at getting spyware/adware)

Have you ran any spyware removal programs? Spyware seems to slow down my computer. Ad-aware.se is a good free program that you can use to clean that up. You can google the name to find the program to download it.
You might also want to delete the cookies and your website history stored on your computer, and clear out all of your internet offline files. You can do that by opening up internet explorer, click on "tools," then "internet options."
Hopefully that works. Good luck!

If your computer is slow, you may need to clean it out. Go on the desktop to start, goto my computer, find local disk C, and right click on it and then click onto properties, and under tools. you can choose to check for errors and also there is an option "defragment". This will clean your computer up by moving stuff around and clearing memory space and will make things go faster and easier. I have tried it and trust me, it works! Any more you need to know you can email me.
