It depends on what you mean by the expression. Do you mean life in general is eternal (i.e., always possible)? You do mean a specific individual lives forever? The first is likely; life is probably always a possibility of matter at some level of complexity.

The second is absurd; it's a cockamamie idea. Think about it...A hard day's work ends by going to sleep; a good sleep ends when you wake up. You eat a meal and it ends. You make love and it ends. Now, think of making love forever, it never ends; think of eating a meal that never ends...Think of doing anything that never ends. It's enough to make you mad. Why on earth would anyone want to live eternally? Why would anyone even dream up such an idea? If I thought I was going to live forever, I'd blow myself up and hope everything was obliterated so there would be no "me". Can you imagine singing hymns eternally? When the dog stops barking, think of how relieved you are. Suppose it never stops? You'd go mad...I think the people who dreamed up the idea of eternal life were wicked, evil people who set out to make people afraid and fearful, much as the politicians do today with terrorism. It's a way of controlling people and has no basis in reality or sanity.

I believe that each lifetime is an opportunity to learn. As Higher beings, our soul will keep coming back to the Earthly plane until we have learned what we must learn, then it is a choice for our soul whether we want to come back or not. It is never lonely, because we meet new souls and re-encounter familiar ones on each 'trip' to Earth. My husband and I have been together before. My daughter is a young soul but I am lucky to have encountered her, she has taught me so much.

I dont think i would like to live for ever am a bit concerned about living past 65. I think it would be very boring and you would be doing the same thing over and over again. In all I'd rather not.

The only way to have eternal life is through Jesus's free gift. You have to accept this gift to get it, but once you accept it from Him you don't have to do anything to keep it. You don't have to "do your part." Honestly, the thought of eternal life scares me because everything on earth has a end of sorts, but we wont be living our eternal life on earth...it will be in Heaven, and what better place to live forever is there?

eternal life is made possible by Jesus Christ. Whether one believe it or not, its real. However, we need to understand that eternal life is a reward for doing our part in "this" life. If we do what the Lord called us to do, we'll experience eternal life. Its perfect, peace and full of love. Its optional and not automatic. God loved you so much that He made it possible for YOU to experience it for your self. Eternal life is reserved for those that do their part on this side. Are you doing your part now?
If not, there is hope.Jesus loves you and prepared a place in heaven for you. Will you take Him up on the offer?

Life after death is eternal life, I love the feeling to know that we have a decisions to make before we past. That's to obey God or to disobey. Depending on the one we decide while were here on earth we, will have eternal life either heaven or hell. It's our choice.

Death is the last part of life... I'd rather die and get my life over with than stay here forever... Some things can only last so long...

I wouldn't wanna life forever. Not even like Dorian Grey (if he had lived forever). As long as people remember me, that's just fine.

If I were gonna look young and be healthy, why not?..
I'm always curious what life will be like in the future. I'd love to see it myself if it really will be like in sci-fi movies :)
