What is a creative way to break pregnancy news?

I have something special in mind as a way to tell my husband, but we have to tell my parents that they are grandparents again (my brother and sister-in-law have a son) and a way to tell his mom that she is a grandma for the first time....but we are looking to do it creatively, not just say, guess what?

My sister took fancy boxes and wrapped them up. Gave them to each set of "new grandparents" and when they opened their "gifts" inside was a branch from a tree. They were very confused, until she explained that there would be a new branch added to our family tree.
I thought it was really creative and cute!!

Is a special occasion for the grand-parents to be coming up? A birthday or anniversary? You could get a card that says Happy Birthday Grandma/Grandpa, or give a t-shirt that says best grandma in the world, or something along those lines. Maybe, if you want to go big, find one of those companies that will put signs in other people's lawns for things like birthdays and such, and see if they have something that will fit this need. I think his mom should get the more creative of the ideas, as a first time grandma. What about sending her pink and blue balloons that say Congratulations? She'll figure that out really quick!! (or flowers, same idea, the ones they give new moms) Anything that says Grandma will do the trick, a charm for her necklace, t-shirt, anything.

For your mom, the news is of course very special and she will be excited but you may have to be more direct, a note in card that says 'can't wait to see you in ....(baby's due date)' etc.

Go out to dinner, or at home, having drinks before dinner, tell them this story.
"I read on the internet a few weeks back, a way that increases your chances of becoming pregnant". "What you have to do is put an olive in your belly button, and a grape between your butt cheeks while you have sex". Then let them comment on that. When they all get done laughing, and saying what a crackpot idea it is, just say, "well it worked".

We sent cards to our dads on fathers day that said, "happy grandpa day!" with a picture of the ultrasound with a little bubble drawn around the message. It was very cute and it was a good way to tell our parents first. Maybe try a different holiday card or just a "I love my grandma/grandpa" card

When my aunt found out she was pregnant with her third, it was just after getting a family portrait taken, with her family, my family, and my grandparents. When she went a picked up the pictures, she went ahead and framed the one for my grandma, and when she gave it to her, after my grandma said how nice it was, my aunt said something like "Yeah, it's too bad we'll have to get a new one taken soon."

Everyone got the idea pretty quick.

Wrap up the test (or a new test if you want a clean one) and give it to them...they will soon guess!

Buy them a card saying 'Congrats you are a grandma' and put it with the test too :-)

Buy his mom a "I'm a Grandma" apron. I also agree with "One in the oven" jersey.

Try buying booties and hanging it on his rearview mirror in the car. If you don't have a car put in his briefcase or bag for when he goes to work. That's how I plan to do it when I get pregnant.

I know someone who took a picture of the positive pregnancy stick and emailed the picture out to people. I thought it was kinda a different way to approach things.

you recognize..that A&W commercial the place the guy's mum and dad get a "Momma and Dadda" burger, and a pair of young human beings...and then the guy adjustments the order to "Grandma and Grandpa" burgers with a Momma and Dadda burger? I continually theory that replaced into cute. So get some burgers and produce them over...haha. Congrats, via the way!
