With Windows XP, try to RIGHT CLICK on your Internet Explorer item on the Task Bar and pick CLOSE GROUP.

Don't go on-line until you have this fixed. I can't imagine how you can function, but maybe you need to make a disk with serveral solutions on it (from a different computer). Try these:

From http://www.download.com get:

Ad-aware - free version from lavasoft
SpyBot Search & Destroy - terrific software

Also, run your anti-virus software

Good luck

If what you encounter is what I encounter, meaning the more pop-ups you close, the more it opens, the only way is to Ctrl Alt Del (if using WinXP). Then u click on Internet Explorer and End Process. You will lose all the pages that is open up.
Either you have an old version of Internet Explorer or you don't have a better browser.
Try Avant Browser at www.avantbrowser.com. It has a built-in anti pop-ups and will kill them silently while you do your work.
And please download SpyBot Search & Destory and do a scan. Your PC is definitely infected with trojans, spywares and adwares.

hi, i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. which is most poweful in popup blocking..

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
