If youre looking to blame someone for the countrys current problems why dont the "finger people" stand down and the "thumb people" stand up.

That was supposed to be a question mark at the end. Believe me I do know proper punctuation.

Your question is NOT meaningless at all! The point is we need to be more positive in our thinking and in our deeds, and those of us who are positive (thumbs up) count our blessings that we live in the greatest country ever while at the same time, we recognize our faults and try to promote ideas to improve, not spend our time constantly condemning our leaders, beating our breasts, and working to find someone to blame for our problems (finger people). Good question, and may the positive energies continue to flow.

Blame is always a tricky thing regarding self responsibility.

Pray tell, what does this seemingly mindless classification of "finger" and "thumb" people mean?
