I am a sales trainer and I was an account exec. for nearly a decade (number one in the country for 4 of those years- top 10 for the other 6) and I can tell you the one TRUE thing that matters is "activity". Meaning you have to get up everyday and do the same thing whether it's raining snowing or sunny. The key to success in most industries in NEW customers... that's right folks COLD CALLING. Figure out how much you want to make, then figure out (on average) how many people you need to see in a day to close ONE deal and then do the math as far as average sale and you're on your way. Drop me a line if you need anymore help.

Slainte,

Their best feature (I'm not one, my brother is awesome) is not being a bullsh1tter, or any of that. It;s making the person you are talking to feel important. Making them believe you are their friend, acting in their best interests, doing all you can for them. Charm them. Basically it's all about them, you know it's not, but they have to know it is, you are working FOR them!

Also, being persuasive, but in a non forceful manner, getting inside their head. Not being all PLUS, PLUS, PLUS but drawing attention to the negatives too, you don't have to say it, but they can then form an opinion of you that you are honest. "I think it;s a great Camera (PLUS), ok it's not ridiculously cheap (NEGATIVE - but honest), but you get what you pay for, and it does take really nice shots (PLUS) ... I was always told a positive, then a negative, then a positive leaves them with the last positive, and a view that you're trust worthy .....

That, and look the part. OK, it does help being someone that people want to do business with, but as long as you speak well and look sharp, you will make an impression..... if it's on the phone, you can create yourself from scratch, leave behind slightly balding Joe Bloggs you are (not saying YOU are) and become Max Crow, super smooth talking salesman .... but remember to listen, too many wannabes love their own voice, and don't listen to the potential buyer

You are either born with it or not. Some people are just naturally gifted for sales. But it doesn't hurt to have a clean put together appearance, breath mints and and the ability to schmooze schmooze schmooze. But you've also gotta believe in what you are selling.

Relationships and believing in your product! People can tell when your phoney and you won't be happy with your job. If you are selling a product that you truly believe will benefit the client you will have a much easier time selling it. Also building relationships whith your clients will get you trust and more clients. If they know you for who you are rather than a skeevy salesperson trying to cheat them out of a buck then they will come back to you and recommend you to their friends. If you find that you have to be fake to be nice to people and you think that your product sucks, you have the wrong job.

somebody who's time-honored with the product/provider o.k. and enjoys it o.k.. somebody who works to remedy the purchasers "subject," no remember notwithstanding if it relatively is a answer provided with the aid of that business company, or no longer. (Why sell an Austin Martin if somebody can only have adequate money a VW?) If i'm determining to purchase something 5 figures plus, i'd desire the shop clerk to be articulate and captivating, as properly.
