i work in the er. i was in triage today. we had like no patients all day. well here first is a bit of history for you about the co-workers in the er-nurses, docs, techs, everyone is always online on the internet when we ARE NOT busy. one day i even so my supervisor pass by the secretary that was on the internet looking at dogs and my sup told her, "Oh that dog is soo cute!" THATS IT! we have nurses that get in triage and they buy stuff on ebay alll day long!!! WHEN WE ARE NOT BUSY. so today i was in triage all day by myself. and very bored. so i got on perezhilton a celb gossip site. shoot i just wanted to know about the latest celeb gossip. so being the nice person i am a call one of my co-workers and ask her to come take my palce so i cacn go and BUY HER whatever she wanted from the coffeshop right down the hall and buy me one cause i was falling asleep from boredom. well she is all kool with it. when i get back my sup points to me and tells me to get in her office now! my co-worker told on me!!! she was looking at the site i was looking at and found some half naked black woman on there and called my sup to go see!!!!!!! so then my sup calls IS and HR and i got fired!!!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS!

I am a RN and I work in the ER. We never have time to go on line. I cant imagine even thinking about it while on duty. Anyway. I think that you were treated unfairly. I would go to the Hospital administrator, Or Human Resources. And point out every thing you just said. You should not have been fired for something everyone else is doing, and getting away with. I personally think that no one should be on line. But the point is you were not doing anything different than anyone else. And for all anyone knows she could have been the one to pull up the site with the half naked women. You may not get your job back by going to the administrator,or Human Resources. but it will be looked into. And you will get a better recommendation if you need to find another job. Good Luck.

well....work is not the place to be looking at celeb gossip.
I'm sure you signed something when you got hired stating that company computers are for company websites, etc;
not that what your co-worker did was right, pretty effed up if you ask me and pretty petty for you to get fired over it, but some places have strict rules about the internet.
Maybe it is for the best and hopefully you will get an even better job.

wow, sad to say I don't think you have much chance of getting your job back. I have the feeling though they "allow" people on the internet there is something in a handbook somewhere saying it is against the rules. As far as your friend, what a b*tch, I mean she could have at least said something to you, and maybe if she saw it happen again then say something. She is the kind of person that makes you think about doing horrible things like scratching her car and popping her tires. Let it go and try to find something else.

Remember that saying about keeping your friends close and your enemies closer.... this is especially true at work as this is where you get your money to pay your rent, mortgage, food, etc and if you have children, True times 10.... Everyone is trying to get ahead and sometimes that means making you look bad to make them look good. Truth is Truth..... you get my point.

First off, if you are a nurse I dont want you putting anything in my file because you can not write or spell. second, tell on them, you have had many chances to do that. you are just made because you got caught!
