CC means carbon copy, you would enter another persons email address and they would also get a copy of the email along with the main person the email is actually to.

CC stands for carbon copy. It started like that a while back when things were stil been typed by typewriter. Instead of sending all involved parties the same original letters, carbon copies (the old type of matrix copy machine) where sent instead. But so in order that everyone would know who else has been informed, the statement CC (names of people receiving cc's) would be inserted at the end of the document.
In nowadays email programs you can still do the same, with the exception that the CC sends the email as well to the original recipient as to the person needed/getting the copy. While BCC stands for Blind Carbon Copy, meaning, that the names of the BCC's will not be mentioned, but informing them never the less, without the original recipients knowledge.

If you are using Outlook Express, there are four fields that you have.
1] To (insert the email addresses whome u want to send mail to)
2] From (only if you want to send the mail from a different id other than your default)
3] CC (means carbon copy, just to let some other person know what u mailed, like your boss or other people who should receive the same information- but it will be shown to others whom u copied) and
4] BCC (Blind carbon copy - just like the CC, insert email ids and a copy will be sent to other people as well, the only difference being that this will not be shown in your mail when it reaches other people)

CC- Carbon Copy- its the technological way of showing that others are included in the same message.
BCC- Blind Carbon Copy- same as CC except those not in the BCC are not aware that a message was sent to you.

I was told it stood for carbon copy...bcc stands for blind carbon copy. If you want to be very proper use the main address line for the person you want to send the e-mail to. Use the CC: line for the addresses you additionally want the email to be sent, and use the BCC: line for addresses that you don't want the main recipient to know about.
You could just put all the addresses in the main address line, with comas in between them.

It is intended to send to another person as a copy. Leave blank unless you want someone to get it as a copy of original. I believe cc means carbon copy.

carbon copy, it dates back to the typewriter days when we would insert a carbon paper in between sheets of paper to make a copy of a document.
Boy, I hated those days!
