I went to Sharm el Sheikh (Naama Bay) last November and it was fab. Stayed in the Jolie Ville Movenpick in the centre of town
Would recommend going on a day trip to Cairo / Pyramids - easliy arranged through your tour rep or local agencies. If you have not done so before, then take a beginners half day course in Scuba diving, as Sinai is consistently rated amongst the best dive sites in the world. Slightly cheaper would be a half day snorkelling excursion.
Food wise, we had no problem at all and the Immodium remained unopened. Naama Bay had something for all tastes.Drinks we cheap if you stick to the local branded beer - imports were expensive in comparison

I am goping to Taba, Egypt in a few weeks time. Apart from the usual pool and sea, i am planning a day trip to Mount Sinai and St Katherines Monastry. I will also be travelling accross the border into Israel and then Jordan for a few days, where i will be stopping at Petra and Wadi Rum. Really looking forward to it.
I stayed in Luxor a couple of years ago. Really nice and excellent location to visit Valley of Kings/Queens etc. I also took a day trip to Cairo to see the pyramids (return flight, tour guide and taxi booked through local travel agents - much cheaper than the trips your package hol company will sell you).
I would recommend you buy a good guide book.

Definitely check out Naama Bay in Sharm el Sheikh....you could go diving, snorkeling, quad biking, para sailing, swimming with dolphins...or just get really lazy and tan at the beach, it's all good.
If you're into clubbing, check out Pacha if you're over there...best club there.
In general though...the Sinai peninsula is really REALLY hot this time of year-- so make sure you drink a lot of water and wear sun screen.

Going in two weeks. Been before its brilliant. Drink lots of water and definately go to ras mohammed, Dont forget your sunscreen. Enjoy it.

go to naama bay area, it was brilliant. i stayed in the melia sinai. just beautiful hotel. staff were lovely too
