i keep a radio on low all the time just enough to drown it out, eventually you will be able to mentally tune it out.

It's important to say that tinnitus is a symptom and not a disease. Some people will have tinnitus because their Cochlea is damaged. And in a few, it could be caused due to hearing loss. But of course, the most common cause of tinnitus is exposure to loud noises. The noise can be a sudden burst, or it could be a constant banging that hits the ear drum and travels inside.
A good guide you can read about tinnitus and some good natural remedies can be found here: http://tinnitus.toptips.org

How long have you had this? I've had it as long as 4 days (payment for front row at Cheap Trick shows) and it goes away with a big ear-pop. But sometimes it can be permanent damage. See an ear doctor.

I feel your pain.It has to be one of the most annoying afflictions.I've had it too but it's miraculously gone away but now I need a hearing aid.Only my hearing in my right ear is even good enough for a hearing aid to help.I did find some links for you.I hope they help. The spelling that you're using may have hurt your search results.I'm reallysorry for you because I know that it's terrible.Joe

I have found that lack of sleep, and alcohol both set mine off.
Try searching the web. Some sites have some self help you might find useful.
Note the spelling is tinnitus
Good luck

You need to see an ear, nose and throat doctor (ENT). I don't think there is anything you can do. There are documented cases of military pilots killing themselves because they couldn't handle the ringing

ENT - though I don't think there is a cure for that.
I sympathise with you - must be driving you round the bend.

Yeah it's not good I get it too.
I only get it when my head hits the pillow at night time.
Taking deep breaths helps me.
