Because Abramoff never invited me into his club of felonious REPUBLICAN congressmen & senators.
Because Tom Delay never invited me to wash money for his campaign & help obstruct justice.
Because Dick Cheney never outed my wife as a US spy to a news reporter.
Because I have yet to recieve any of the billions of missing dollars unaccounted for in Iraq
Because I have yet to recieve any of the billions of the missing Katrina Relief money.
Because I never once killed an abortion doctor.
Because I never never lied to the American public in order to start a war.
I could go on for hours....

Technically I have not declared myself as either a Republicant or a Democrap; of course this does not allow me to vote in the primaries . Nevertheless, when I go to vote, I select the person whom I think will do the best for our country and internationally at that time. Sometimes this is an R vote and sometimes a D. Too many people follow the political choice of parents without really trying to understand and develop their own political identity. This is sad and partly to blame for the polarization of politics in our country.

In general they spend less money than republicans - and when they don't, at least they were spending it at home - they used to be the working man's party - but that has become questionable - my real issue with any party - is if we would just eliminate all lobbying we could go back to having a government of the people, for the people, by the people. And as someone has already mentioned - I'm not rich enough to be Republican or Indpendent and I don't want to throw away my vote!

I agree more on them with regards to social issues. I'd say I'm a centrist on spending/taxes, but I think the Republican party (by and large) has the wrong stand on most social issues (stem cells in particular). I'd say I have more in common with some centrist Republicans (Olympia Snowe, for example) than some far-left Democrats, though.

Used to be a Republican, and still agree with more Republican policies than Democrat, but recently the Republican party has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Christian right. I think separation of Church & State is one of our country's most important priciples, so I cannot back that party any more.

I find that the goals and ideals of the democratic party are more in tune with what I believe in than those of the republican party.
I feel that the Dems are an inclusive party and that everyone gets a voice.
Republicans come off as too narrow-minded and very specific as to who can be a republican (as evidenced by the GOP treatment of Log Cabin Republican)

Leftists throw better parties and have sex scandals. Republicans have money scandals. Leftist scandals are more fun than right-wing scandals.
