Because...most people are left-brain dominant which is dominant over the right side of the body...left brain dominants are frequently smart and good in memorization...it's in the brain thingy...

Some people use their left hands more, others use both equally. I think it's a combination of brain programmation and then a bit of nurture as well. Then again, I have been playing the cello since I was three, and that is the only thing I can use my left hand for; other than that I find it really difficult to use. So maybe it's all just brain programming.
