my daughter is really interested in crocodiles but doesnt know what baby ones are called she is only 5 yrs old

The crocodile lays eggs and they take between 8-12 weeks to hatch. There could be up to 90 eggs in the nest. When they are ready to hatch the baby crocodiles make a yapping sound from inside the eggs so the mother will dig them out of the ground and carry them to the water. A baby crocodile is called a Hatchling.

Generally just hatchlings or neonates, then yearlings, then juveniles or subadults, then adults. Males are bulls and females are cows, though the terms aren't used all that often.
