A pain free life with wife/husband and kids that was boring or a bit of pain and heartache but a
very active life of money and excitement but you was single no kids?

i have a wife and two young kids
i am not bored, and pain free life doesn't exist
i also have an active life and excitement, and i'm lucky enough to have a job which pays me enough not to have to have any immediate worries about money

Money will not keep you warm at night! I would rather have a husband and children and love.
You can make your life more exciting in many different ways, that don't involve money. xx
