I have put up with the anger and arrogance of my girlfriend for so long thinking that I should not react likewise and desert her because she's not wise enough to realise that she would be all alone without me during these trying times for her. And she doesnt follow my adivse gets into trouble and comes back to me looking for support/solution, I still offer what I can and when she can barely stand, there she is again showing her arrogance. Its not that she's bad but her thinking seems clouded...and she forgets words spoken and hurt caused. Putting up with these things was/is is the most selfless think I have done.

I can't tell you that. If I were to write it and get the 2 points and possibly even the 10 then I would be getting rewarded for the selfless act therefore no longer making it a selfless act.

Wrong question selfless the word means it is done without any reward and the act should be so special that it cannot be expressed coz what u think selfless may look selfish to someone! Hard Truth

Being a concerned person for an alcoholic trying to get through rehab. The ups and downs, being understanding and supportive. It is very difficult but to see someone turn it around and become successfull is as rewarding for me as for them. Some may call it co-dependent but if you don't know the person and be there with no expectations I think its a very selfless act. Many people, sponsors, AA, counselors, etc. do this. I don't always understand how but I understand why.

I don't know how "selfless" it was, but one time I saw a little girl get hit by a car as she was passing in front of an ice cream truck. The ice cream truck driver and I ran to her. She wasn't breathing, and her heart had stopped. The two of us did CPR, and got her heart beating again, and got her breathing until the ambulance finally made it. Unfortunately, she died about 12 hours later. I can still see her lying on the road, even though it was about 15 years ago.

In the airport, where the conveyor belt moves and shows all the luggage that was taken from the airplane so people can pick it up and go home, a man saw his carry-on luggage but misssed it while the conveyor belt was moving. I got the luggage for him, although I am only 13 and it was very heavy, and gave it to him.
That was my most recent one, done yesterday.
I am polite and try to help people as much as possible so I have made many small sacrifices, such as taking my time to pick up a coin that a man dropped and give it to him, throughout my life.

If you had spent weeks at the bedside of someone dying in a hospice, you wouldn't have to ask the question.
