I have always wanted my ears pierced but I still have doubts about having comments made to me.

Sure I don't see why not. If you live your life by what other people will think is acceptable, you'll never get to do anything...I have 2 tattoos and I knoew alot of people would talk and be upset too... but it's what I wanted... so I did it and have no regrets!... So go for it and good luck!

It depends on where you have the piercings and what type of ear rings you have in.

If you have 1 little hoop on each side or matching studs or something then you will look a bit strange and get comments.

However, if you have the tops of your ear pierced like i did or different numbers of piercings on each ear then i think they are cool!

Depends on the rest of your look aswell!

But at the end of the day, they are your ears if you want them pierced, then get them pierced! Don't worry about what people will say because whatever you do there will be idiots out there who will have a go at you just for the sake of it!

Also you will get good comments aswell as bad so i wouldn't worry about it!

Just make sure you take care of them as if it gets infected then it will just look horrible and more seriously could cause problems. Very easy to care for them though so don't let that put you off!

If you have doubts about it, wait awhile......You realize that you will have lots of comments made about it from bosses and the older generation. If you are willing to put up with the unfortunate discrimination, go for it!! My son put a tatoo (sp.?) on his shoulder but put it so that a long sleeve shirt would cover it when he interviewed for job, etc. Now that he is older, he is very glad he made that decision when he was young. At least you can let piercing in your ears go way when you are ready......

It is acceptable. I have had my left ear pierced and I didn't mind. Remember to cover it up on take it out though when doing sport because it might get caught. That is why I don't have mine in now but still go for it.

I think one ear pierced on a male is accepted now. If u have 2 it's important to wear some serious bling in them like david beckham else hoops and things do look a bit girly. Go for it who cares what other people say!

Both is not usual for a man, one is perfectly acceptable to the majority of people, though there is a protocol concerning which ear and your sexuality (which may be regional, I'm not sure).

If you really can't decide, a simple unstretched hole in the ear lobe is *not* a permanent body mod, if you take the jewellery out, it will close over, so you *can* experiment.

i think its perfectly acceptable, im male and have my left ear peirced four times, and my belly button done as well, ive had my ear dont since i was ten and my stomache for about a year, and no ones ever said anything bad about it, and if they do, who cares what they think? do what you want, other peoples good opinion of you is entirely optional, and just to let people know, the way people think has changed, just because a man has his ears peirced, doesnt make him feminine, or a wuss, personally i think if anything it shows he can take pain, and no, it isnt like a tattoo, if you get them done, and then leave them out for a loooong time, like three or four months the holes will grow back together and all youl have is a scar, i know, i let mine grow up once cause i couldnt find my earing, and had to get the damn thing peirced all over again.

In some cultures, I think it's perfectly acceptable. Indians may correct me on this, but I was told that the first born male may have one ear pierced.

I guess if you want to fit into your current community, you have to go by what they find acceptable. Unless, of course you don't really care, in which case, you will do what you want.

It's 2006 about to be 1007 Men can wear earrings, just not girly bangles or big huge hoops or stuff. Then people might have a couple comments. It's all in the way you carry yourself. I wouldn't recommend if your job doesn't approve though.

There are so many men that have their ears pierced. Some of them have both ears pierced. Their are pro-athletes that have both ears pierced. Why would you think you would look gay?
