Well define happy. Happy can mean different things for different people. The dictionary says that happy means an emotional or affective state that feels good or pleasing. Happiness for some people can mean wealth, friends, family, health, safety etc contrasting ones that include suffering, grief, anxiety, pain etc. Happiness is when more favourable events happen and less unfavourable events don't happen.
Happiness though can create problems. Take a stereotypical American teenage girl and they're happy if they feel pretty, achieve success on the cheerleading squad, have a good thin figure and a cute boyfriend. But with such an emphasis put on these things to make them happy, people can feel unhappy when really they have a lot more than they realise. I think happiness should be about enjoyed what you have and not lusting after material things just because everyone else wants them. The so-called American Dream portrays a vision of happiness but it destroys economies in the process. For example it takes away young Mexican migrants from their already struggling LEDC economy, so American workers can exploit them to satsify their own pockets, whilst stretching Mexico resources of young people, as the numbers of young people living in Mexico move to America (an MEDC).
You need to learn to be happy being the person you are and enjoying what you have and let me tell you that is the best happiness in the world, which is why it takes such a long time to achieve but it's worth it in the end.

Yes, because I have discovered who I am after a long time of living in the shadow of my late hubby. The key to happiness is to love yourself, be yourself, do things that YOU ( and not others) enjoy, utilise your strengths to the maximum, develop a Positive Mental Attitude towards everything and everyone. Lastly, trust in God to give you strength and wisdom for each day. This is my life and I am truly happy!!! Good luck.

At this moment in time, I am happy, and content. I am stressed with work, but all I have to do is think I can go home at the end of this day and talk to my boyfriend, see my mother and sisters. What more would you want?

I am the happiest I've ever been. I stopped doing drugs and found more important stuff to spend my money on and life has never been more glorious! I'm happy that I realized what was wrong before I did to much damage to myself or others.

Yes, I am. And I am glad that so many other people are also. I see so much complaining on Q&A. I am happy that the majority of the response was positive. Thank you

Right now... at this moment... I'm ok, and I'm only ok because its lunchtime, I have a sandwich, I'm being mildly entertained on answers, and I'm trying not to think about what a mess I've made of everything.

I'm not happy because I feel insecure in my relationship. My significant other of a year and 4 months chooses to not introduce me to his friends. Wouldn't you feel insecure?
