I guess it would depend on what you would consider old. I know someone in her 80's and you would never know that she was, she puts a lot of people to shame. She helps her children, looks after her grandchildren. She just got back from a holiday with her neice. She writes to me as well on her computer. And I can't remember her saying I'm old!!!! Oh, and she also helps her sister and brother in law get groceries every week.

If you are talking from a business standpoint, like going to find a job, unfortunately, yes. In the business industry, age discrimination generally starts around the age of 40, which I think is stupid because someone that age has so much more experience than someone just out of school with a piece of paper saying they know everything.

If you are talking from a day to day life standpoint, then personally I say NO. I find women between the ages of 40 - 50 to be extremely attractive. The extra here seems to be the same as in the business world, the experience that has been learned over the years of how to treat and love a man is much better than someone just learning. Even with that said, I think someone between 40 - 50 still have more they can learn and they aren't as inhibited when trying. Much more interesting and fun.

Can I safely assume you are the 42 year old you are referring to?

We could have fun.

No, people actually don't feel old in the mind; their personalities, senses of humor are the same throughout life, but from experiencing the world, older people are not as impulsive as 16-year-olds.

Have you seen 40-yr olds lately? 40 is the new 30 and 30 is the new 20 and 20yr olds should still be at home growing up!

When you are already using the word 'girl' and you feel they are young, why did u ask this question?

But let me tell you that I have seeen people who say they are 22, look like 42 and vice versa.

Finally, age is in the mind...

You are as young as you feel and act. I don't think that real material age matters. You can old 23 and a young 57.

Depends on the age of the person asking the question and the age of the person answering.

But it's the height of bad manners to ask a girl her age, so there's no need to worry :)

my mum is actually 7 yrs older than you and she looks a lot better than a lot of 20 yr old girls out there. So therefore your only as old as you feel. live life to the fullest and appreciate every moment you have
