Yes, you can disable the ABS system so that it will not even try to function. Every car is different and every ABS system will need to be disabled differently. If you don't know what you are doing, I suggest that you don't mess with it. As suggested above, if the ABS is not functioning, there is no real reason to disable it, since it is not working anyway. You just have to deal with the light on your dash.
But on a safety note, many states will not allow vehicles that were originally equipped with ABS to have them disabled or not functioning. So while this may seem like a good idea, check with your local garage to make sure you can still have your car inspected when it comes time.

Pull the fuse. If system warning lamp is on then ABS defaults to 'off' anyway. This will not affect braking unless you drive on very icey or very, very wet roads. If your vehicle has traction control then disabling ABS will also turn off traction cntrl system.
Most people never engage ABS system under normal driving conditions for the life of the vehicle.

I had to do this recently on our 99 Tahoe. The ABS would try to engage and cause the brakes to surge without actually stopping you. I pulled the fuse so that the brakes would work before it caused an accident, but I do intend to fix it very shortly just have to figure out where the problem is.

Light is on the system is already not working just replace the wheel speed sensors that are not working. ABS saves lifes it is true when if it ever starts to rain again on slick roads you will benefit from anti lock

Yes, just pull the fuse and the brakes will function normally without the antilock.

you can disable it. you can take the fuse out and shut it off. you won't have abs but you will have regular brakes which won't be as good but it shouldn't mess anything up otherwise.
