I think that might be based on the general western culture and their way of life and thinking. For them, their freedom for choice, in all relations, is very important to them, even part of their 'constitutional rights', which Mr. Bush once stated himself: 'It's a darn good piece of paper'. But it's much likely just that, a peace of paper, as they don't wanna accept, that there are other countries out there, who refuse to go by 'that piece of paper'.

They don't see the need to understand and evaluate the lifestyle, reasons and history of Muslim countries, therefore seeing it as 'inferior', 'human rights violating' and even 'savage'. And that's what in their eyes need to be changed, not considering the roots, customs and even mentality of people living in these countries.

And based on that force given on these Muslim countries, they respond in their very own way. As this response continued to be unheard, some members of the faith take it into their own hands then to try to make a point, to get the world to stop, listen and then to decide. So far their tries have been not only outrageous, but also caused the opposite effect, to bring up more 'consideration that a change in the Muslim lifestyle is more needed than ever'.

But generally spoken, it's the major lack of understanding which causes these things to happen nowadays, plus a very good likelyhood that some selfish materialistic motives might there behind.

Every super power tries to enforce its way of life on other societies. This has always been our way of life since there was a (SUPER POWER). However, the rules of game have changed. Super powers are no longer interested in enforcing their ways of life on other nations, rather they try to control those nations in order to sustain their superiority.

The Muslim world was once a great empire that stretched from Spain to China. The chances of Muslims uniting and becoming once again a super power is increasing by the year.

Using the old tactic of (Divide and Rule) no longer a smart choice, instead, now the tactic of (oppress in the name of improvement) is the new hype.

The American foreign policy is not created by George Bush, actually it is enforced by every political party.

The only challenge or real threat to such policies is the INTERNET. The fact that people can get their dose of news from all around the world, and can chat directly to people from those countries in question, have weakened those politicians grip on their own people.

The world is a smaller village than it has ever been, and it continues to shrink. The new information technology will change the way super powers behave.

Forcing western society on Muslim countries isn't to aid those countries but rather to aid the west. America sees Islam as its next great enemy and seeks to somehow tame it before it builds enough power to truly resist the MacDonalds Happy Meal. I imagine that Bush would see the massive loss of civilian life in Iraq and elsewhere as excusable if he were to reshape the mideast in a way that could block further bigger wars down the road.

Why would he bother to "force the western society on muslim countries"?
They can't handle their own backward society they have now. Let them get out of the 12th Century first.

He's not, and has clearly stated that those governments and societies will likely differ from our own. Giving people the right to choose is not "forcing" anything on them.

Because he has a ethno-centric view. He sees western society (HIS version of it) as being the ultimate goal for everyone. His way or the highway, basically. For him it is all tied together: "freedom", "democracy", "religion", heck even apple pie. Talk about a narrow view.

He doesn't understand that being different make us special. I would not like to live in Arab country, or in Japan, China, USA or Russia. I love living in Europe, but I definitely would hate if Arab people accept American way of life. This is a suicide. Discover and live your own way of life.
