I listen to lyrics of every song. Not the beat. If the lyrics are garbage and the beat is good, I don't like the song. Lyrics are the heart of a song.

Yes - some are actually very sad but we listen to them as love songs - some are quite beautiful - My husband proposed to me by singing "You Are My Sunshine" - which as I shared this with my parents a couple of months ago - My mom informed me that was my parents song! Until my husband sang it to me, I don't think I had actually ever heard it.

I haven't for around 10 years but have noticed allot of nice warm and fuzzies on the radio recently. The words to "Into my arms" by Nick Cave always pull on my heart strings and "Yellow" by Coldplay

sometimes. when i listen to music i know the words but i dont really pay attention to what the song is really about. but maybe once or twice i actually payed attention to what the song was really about.
