I want to download music, not necessarily latest chart songs but songs from months and years ago. Is there a website i can find diffrent songs and download them for free so i can make my own favourite c.d

Download the software called Limewire. You can get it from download.com or limewire.com. It's basic version is free. I suggest downloading limewire from download.com. Limewire's a P2P file sharing software, with which u can download mp3, videos, pictures and much more. You can even search songs using the software. It's fast downloader. You'll like it.
Download it and
ENJOY!!!!!
(Another tip-Dont download anything less than 1 or 2 MB using limewire ) Also( Never download from websites coz its likely to contain adwares or spywares)

I would try a torrent site get a torrent downloader like u torrent that way you will not be putting loads of spyware on your computer with programs such a limewire.

The sites are puting bugs, spyware, viruses... So download a Torrent Client like BitComet http://www.download.com/BitComet/3000-2196_4-10437124.html or uTorrent http//www.utorrent.com/download.php
Then found some sites with torrent downloads like:

Limewire.. download it free from download.com... make sure you scan everything you download with antivirus before you use it...
also, get a free thing called "adaware-se" from download .com..install it and scan your computer, you will be shocked how much rubbish it will find on your computer.

Check out www.limewire.com, its good for singles and remixes. For whole album's check out www.bitcomit.com. Both are great and normally good download speeds. Good Luck :O)
