I have changed 3 jobs within 1 year mainly due to unreasonable boss....my job is administrative and I can do my work well and I can get along with my colleagues but now my resume seems to indicate a lack of commitment with frequent job changes. I have been out of work for 6 months before I got my current job. However, my current boss always picks on me and I'm afraid to leave my job. Anyone been in my shoes? What should I do?

I know it takes two hands to clap, i.e. I took the initiative to quit although I had an option to stay. This is what prompt me to quit for my last 3 jobs.

1st job - Nice manager at first, would take the time to ask about my well being and listen to my problems. Later, openly quote me as a presentation tool to demostrate her "good" managerial role.

2nd job - manager secretly opened up my files on my PC and use it to surf the NET. Fyi, our net usage activity is monitored. I saw this while turning back from the restroom back to my desk to get my tissue.

3rd job - Bring work home to do on my own initiative. Being praise by Director as a role model. Manager not happy that I now became a threat to her status. Implied that either I go or she will make me.

yeah I stayed in a job with 2 incredibly overbearing creeps for 3 years got myself in such a state of depression that I hated going to work and hated coming home. It was strange it was an administrative job as well. Unfortunately I was so stuck in a rut that I just put up with it being scared of the unknown. Fortunately our company downsized and I got laid off. I took this opportunity to try something that was different and wound up in a job where I awoke at 5 am because I could not wait to get to work. The new job felt more like being paid for play. Have the courage to look deep inside yourself and find out if your really want to be in administrative work or would like to experiment to find out who you really are. If you are scared try finding an evening or week end job part time to see if a completely different field would make you happier. Life is too short not to try to find a job where you feel like it is more play than work.

3 jobs in 1 year because of 3 "unreasonable" bosses?

Be honest, now -- is it your bosses who have been unreasonable, or is it you? 3 jobs in 1 year looks *really* bad, and it's not like you can go into an interview and complain about your bosses. That also looks really bad.
