I want to one day start a business for my family back in the Philippines but before I invest my time and money, I am researching on to what kind of business would be lucrative or even just a little income would be okay as long as I dont loose money and they have something to earn.

I have been told internet cafes are just so many now but all the fil girls are on them all the time. if you go to www.filipinofriend finders easy to meet and talk to people even free if you just talk to people online at the time.
Maybe they can give you a better idea.
I am going there for 2 weeks later this month but that will be to late to answer this question.
Also if you go to a big town realestate is cheap compared to here, many come from rural areas to work and need a place to live so many turn homes into rooming houses or small apartments.
But you can not own property except condos unless you are Fil or are married to one.

If u want to play safe game start some Services base Business where u need :
1). 1 Table
2). 3 Chairs
3). 1 Telephone
Total Expense is Around 100 Euro; these can be re sold in case business not run smoothly.
The business can be:
Courier Services
Rail Ticket Booking
Ad Agency
Etc....

So many choices but it's much better to handle a food business..restaurant in a good place where people is. It is more easy to start with this.

Try Franchising...
U can start with kiosk, some palce you want or the malls...
If it sells like hotcake then open another one. Some franchising starts only with P50,000... Some food kiosk, accessories, etc.
