Women are actually "pregnant" for 40 weeks. The doctors start counting form the first day of your last period. But these 40 weeks don't really make 10 months because all months, except February, have more than 28 days. So your wife was pregant for 40 weeks and 1 day, but its still close to 9 months.

Iam sure it feels like it to her. The gestational period of humans is not a full nine months. Its 280 days, counting from the first day of the last period, which is two weeks before conception.

You're not stupid and i understand your question unlike the people chewing your asss off this early morning.

If you start from conception its only 8.6 months or so that a woman is actually truely pregnant, supposing the baby is able to form and release the birthing hormones within that amount of time, but like all things living, each woman and each baby develops at a different rate, some times theyre ready earlier, some times later.

:)

Sir, Is this a serious question? If so, then how in the world would 1 day make a months differnce? Have you ever thought you may have miscalculated the days? Doctors are humans too and babies are not going to come until their ready!

The human gestational period is 10 months. So your wife was most likely in her 10th month already.

If she thinks it's ten months, let her have this one. You could certainly say she's "in her tenth month".

Good luck to your family!
