If something comes out of science (these mystical "scientists" create it), it is no longer supernatural. It has a scientific explanation, as it was made based on known laws of physics. Sure, it could seem supernatural to someone who doesn't know how it works, but it wouldn't be it. Just like a flashlight would look like a supernatural thingie from a cavemans point of view.
I guess the quite common (mis)belief that science is almighty is rising from the fact that most people don't really understand how all this stuff around them works. After all, things like the computer and display in front of which you now sit are very complex, not to mention all other things from satellites to microwave ovens.

No, unless they managed to cross a human with bio-luminescent jellyfish to produce a glow in the dark human with 10 arms and killer forearm hair!
God is based on religion, science is not religion and if people are silly enough to confuse the two then, yes it would be possible for some people to believe that 'a genetic freek' of nature was a god. Science can prove to the contary but some people are just so gulliable that it would be impossible to suggest otherwise.

Anything's possible...through scientific advancements we would appear as gods to humans living 400 years ago. Of course, a god (if such a thing exists) has to be more powerful than us, so if we are the creators, the created cannot be a god to us....

One day....? ... maybe in a few million years (if mankind still exists then).
The common religious belief is that God created the universe.
We are still struggling to get to Mars and survive there.....!
And we can't even invent a vacuum cleaner that actually removes everything from a carpet, dust, sand, and long hair.....

no but on second thoughts, they could and would also claim that what they created is god.
science would not exist without god. neither would the scientists or all of us and everything for that matter.
