Please ignore idiots who say that you should be married etc...

This is 2006!

As long as you are not to be evicted and your home is warm and safe it makes no difference whether or not you rent or are buying your home!

It is more important to consider whether yourself and your partner are ready for a baby.

its completely up to you, if you feel you can afford it and you have the extra space that a baby needs then i can't see a problem. it may be an idea to check whether your landlord would let you stay if you have a child because some don't like the idea of letting to people with children.
as well you have to consider if your area is good for children, do you have access to a garden? is there a park nearby? is your falt ground floor or will you be pulling the pushchair up loads of stays each day as well as your shopping? is there local shops if you need to pop out and get nappies/milk/etc?
it may be an idea to look for a place considering all these things before you consider having a child if your place doesn't already tick the boxes.
it may also be an idea to get an idea of the landlord how long he is looking to rent you the flat as the last thing you want is to have a baby then have to be looking for another place to live as well as finding the money for deposit etc
good luck

Personally I don't thi nk you should get pregnant until married but that's me.

It's actually a good questioin in respect to renting/owning and the answer is...

It's entirely up to you! I know a couple, married, raised their daughter for her entire school career in an apartment. He could have afforded a house but just didn't buy. Ask yourself two questions...
1) Do we want to own our own house and all the maintenance
2) Can we afffordd said house?

If you can say yes to both of those questions... hold off on the kid until you have a house. I think it's a nicer atmosphere to raise a child... own room, own yard... blah, blah, blah

Nothing wrong with living in a rented flat. Just make sure you have the finances to bring up a child.

remarkable now, you would be entitled to single persons housing earnings, that's adequate to hire a miles less high priced room in a shared abode. as quickly as toddler arrives you would be entitled to adequate to hire a miles less high priced 2 mattress flat. in case you have any mark downs in any respect, I recommend you seek for a one-mattress flat as you're usually tied into leases for 6 months and a 'room' is going to be some distance from suited for a clean-born. rather some mum and dad share their mattress room with their toddler for the 1st few months. you additionally can stick to for a 'discretionary housing charge' to hide the version in hire between the 'room' and a 2-mattress until eventually toddler is born, even though it rather is discretionary so which you will could have a sturdy reason for the council to comply with very practically double your entitlement. looking assets once you declare reward is complicated - even though it rather is feasible, around 40% of tenancies have some variety of 'housing earnings' involvement.

if you think you are ready to have a baby then go ahead. it doesnt matter if you are living in a rented flat. when me and my partner found out we were expecting we moved into a private rented flat. and everything was fine.

Depends on what it says in the lease. If you are allowed kids in the flat then go for it!
If not then maybe think about looking for someone else that would allow a child with you

No there is nothing wrong with that at all. where you live will not affect your ability to love your child and providing you can offer it somewhere clean and warm to live and you and your partner are in a secure financial position to have a baby then go for it!

Yes and you will be fine up to the first year of your child's life, but much after that you will want to find a place where he/she can have his/her own bedroom. In the meantime you can keep the crib either in your bedroom or the living room.

As long as it's a suitable and clean home, I don't think it's a problem whether or not it's a rented place you live in
