Sometimes it replays in my mind like an out-of body experience, or a movie scene, her whispering assurances in my ear, lying to me...

Well, let's see. about 20 times in my life, I would say.
Truth be told, the majority of times it is a female. Smart enough to do and say what ever it takes to keep yuo interested until she figures out what she is going to do with you.
it happens in intimate relationshiops, friendships, partnerships, business relations, etc.
it has been this way since the beginning of time.
I am sorry for this for you.
Don't keep beating yourself up over it. Most people who are good, trusting souls do not expect this, so it hits like a rock.
She was not good for you, and can you imagine what type of damage she could do if it took longer to find out?

Oh yes, I have had that happen lots of times, so called friends are amazing at it, you can feel the betrayal the way they hug you, so false and obvious, only knowing true love gives you the experience of betrayed embraces.

I truly understand your pain, I've had a few Judases in my lifetime. Sadly enough they were family! My sisters and the woman I dated after I got separated. It was a very troubling time in my life and their betrayal made things seem worse. Luckily things got better and I didn't let those events hold me back. It is hard to say and even harder to do, but you gotta move on. I forgave, but it's still hard to forget.

Keep strong and Good Luck!

Yes, and like you, I replayed it in my mind over and over until I realized that to waste even a few moments of time on thoughts of him was adding insult to injury. I moved on and got over it. I don't believe in giving the events of the past the power to exist in the present or to color my future.

Yes, I guess one must learn to determine a betrayal hug from genuine hug.

we're all capable of doing that ... and having it done to us... it's what's called a life experience and helps make you the person you are... distrusting, vengeful, angry, sad... lol... you'll get over it like everyone does.. eventually! best of luck x
