Got no external CDz (notebook bought as package). Do I need a driver from somehere? If so where?!

You need to check if the sound driver is properly installed and if the settings are correct.

You should of got the drivers when you got the laptop. I would recomend wiping the hard disk drive and installing the factory restore CD then the windows one as many drivers are not inculde on the windows CD.

O and its a laptop not a notebook!

Yes, you lost your sound driver. Look up the brand on the Internet and download it. I've always found audio drivers on the net.

Check for the sound card and it istaller it's the CD that comes with your computer or have a technician get the serial number of the sound card and you can download it form the internet.

you need to install the sound drievrs. check the CD that came along with mother board. You can also check the offical site of the Mother board manafacture.

cd or manufacturer website, ac97 is a common notebook sound driver

Sound card needs the drivers.... AC97 works with most cards..

u hav lost ur sound drivers... now u should reinstall it.. u can install it by CD of motherboard or frm internet....
some of the sound drivers can be install by backup of winxp.. if u win xp then go to ur Computer's Properties that is available in ur Desktop... now click on HARDWARE tab.. click on DEVICE MANAGER tab... now click on ur sound card (indicate with yellow round mark) .. now right click of mouse & click on update.... now click on NO NOT THIS TIME. then go for next tab.... now click on Search for a best driver frm my harddisk.. now click on Browse... now click on the folder of ur winxp backup.... click on I386 folder then ok..... eighter it will install...... or it will not intall withoout CD

U have to provide more info.
First u have to find the manufacturer.and goto their site and downlaod driver.
