the cells go in order sunday-,,monday,, tuesday etc.,,, but i want to list the cells in the other direction which means to list backwards sunday, saturday----friday etc is there a way i can do this

Yea, there is

Type Sunday
Then Saturday
then click in the lower right corner on the small black square that's there
and then move your mouse down on others cells,
and excel will start filling in the cells backwards

I've never known of an Excel function to do that.

Two ways you can do it.
1. Do it manually.
2. In an adjacent col., enter numbers in the order you want.
Sat. 1
Fri. 2
Thur. 3
ETC.

Then sort on that col. If you are creating a long list in that order, copy and paste.

You can make your own user defined list under Extras/Options
where you can either arrange the existing list in the opposite way, or where you can create a new custom list
