Why do people always want to post these trick questions?

There are many possibilities, here are the ones I can think of:

20 - not including signs, not including worded numbers.
10 - including signs, not including worded numbers.
44 - not including signs, including worded numbers, not including numbers within numbers.
53 - not including signs, including worded numbers, including numbers within numbers - forwards only.
63 - not including signs, including worded numbers, including numbers within numbers - backwards also.
34 - including signs, including worded numbers, not including numbers within numbers, not including worded signs.
24 - including signs, including worded numbers, not including numbers within numbers, including worded signs.
43 - including signs, including worded numbers, including numbers within numbers - forwards only.
53 - including signs, including worded numbers, including numbers within numbers - backwards also.

14 = 10 = 1 is what you would get if you worked out each of these separate sums, if that it is what you are supposed to do, or you may have to add these together, to get 25.

These are lots of examples to try, I doubt you'll get through and even if you do it will cost a fortune and you will probably say the wrong answer anyway, or they will have some sort of complex method that nobody has thought of. One which probably doesn't even make any sense.

I would go with the last one on the 'list', which is 53. Good luck!

Unless this question has already finished and surprisingly nobody got it right and they didn't reveal the answer.

19 - 5 = 4 + (3 x 2) = 6 - 5

14 = 4 + 6 = 1

14 = 10 = 1

14 + 10 + 1 = 25

The sum of 14 + 10 + 1 = 25
