System restore is Windows XP, not 2000.

Does the pc bluescreen, or do you get a message stating it will shut down in 60 seconds?

If you're getting a shutdown message, click start, run, and type "shutdown -a" when it occurs, then run a virus scan (make sure you update your antivirus first).

For bluescreens, you can check your event viewer (right click my computer, manage, event viewer) to see what error is being thrown up (it'll have a red cross icon) then google it for more information.

If the issue is unresolveable, you can run a repair on windows by booting from your original 2000 cd.

Hope this helps :-)

Sounds like a virus to me. Scan your computer with an antivirus and an antispyware program.

Have you got Windows Defender? It is the best spyware program available. It is much better then Ad-Ware.

I think you may have a virus.

Try one of the free virus detectors on line or buy Norton and the like.
