if given access to any machine in a college network, how do i map the entire network, and find out which of the nodes are servers?? i'd really appreciate some help... thanx.

Servers in a college environment usually have static ip-addresses with unique domain names and are probably running Active Directory for securities, so unless you have administrative rights for the network, you will probably not be able to see outside the subnet (lab) including the server nodes (seperate subnet) or any other lab nodes (seperate subnets) except mabey other lab printers that are sometimes shared within a domain (location)

Expand "Entire Network"
Expand "Microsoft Windows Network"
The networked computers/servers will be visible...
