no.. but i would have thought that possibly he/she worried about my reaction and really didn't want to hurt my feelings, so that person told a white lie. I would pretend I never found out and continue to hang with this person OR confront that person and say that I understood why he/she lied and tell them it is OK (if it is OK)..

If she/he told you so that is because she/he didn't want to be insensible to you and it was most likely the nicest way to tell you. I wouldn't be pissed, I would appreciate that she/he didn't slap me in the face by telling me that I'm ugly, a brute, whatever...

No, that's their way of saying they don't want a relationship. It's probably not right of them to lie about it, but the message is clear. Not interested.

NOPE...IT WOULD MEAN.....1] HE/SHE WASN'T INTERESTED IN YOU
2] HE/SHE IS JUST BEING CAUTIOUS AND CHECKING YOU OUT...[AND MAYBE YOUR FRIENDS]...FIRST
OR...."THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO GET TIED UP WITH YOU A WHOLE LOT...AND THAT THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO HAVE SOME UNINHIBITED FUN...
