Yes war is profitable for some people. It always has been and always will be. There are the weapons manufacturers, the meal providers, the clothing manufacturers, and of coarse anyone who owns stock in any of the companies who make or provide any of the necessities of war. All of these companies being busier because of war also hire more people to work for them thereby increasing their profits too. Add to this that with increased profits for individuals and corporations equals greater tax payments to states and to country . In other words huge numbers of people profit from war.

Anyone who says war benefits no one is kidding themselves. Watch the Nicolas Cage move, "Lord of War" it is a bit of Hollywood but has some truth to it as all good fiction does.

War= Politics + Economics.

Politics= Religion + Ideas.

War=(Religion + Ideas) + Economics.

Politics= War- Economics.

Religion= Politics + Ideas

Religion + Ideas = War - Economics.

Ideas= War - Religion - Economics

Economics= War - Religion - Ideas

Economics= War- Politics

See the relationship.... someone benefits from this also from the movie that is true.... All of the world's major Arms Producers are on the UN SECURITY COUNCIL.

It's not justified based on economics. It's mandated by the Constitution. The federal government is required to defend and protect the citizenry through military action as necessary, including creation and support of standing armies. If you are concerned about the amount of money the government is spending, then look at how many agencies are funded that are prohibited by the Constitution. Go to the link listed below to see a general breakdown of the US budget projection for fiscal 2007. Of the 22 agencies listed on the graph, the government only has Constitutional authority to fund 7. The vast majority of our budget is paid to social programs - at last count 54%. The military budget pales in comparison, typically accounting for <15% of total expenditures, despite the fact that the government is Constitutionally required to defend us, and is Constitutionally prohibited from funding social programs. It appears the problem lies somewhere other than the defense budget.

war makes money for lots of suppliers and traders of scarce commodities, not just wepons. Also the media sell lots more papers and 24 hour News TV coverage

Also promotion in the military and extra danger payments
and for those involved there is often the chance of being a hero, having a clear purpose in life, camaraderie etc. It reinforces peoples views about "them", the enemies.

Peace by comparison has little to recommend it to those in power.

and the winner isssssss .... central banks ....like the federal reserve .. bank of england .... world bank ....all throughout modern history back several hundred years its been theorized if not proven that central banks and the filthy rich aholes that run them are even actively involved in instigating wars. ... these banks are the ones that loan the money to the govts to fight the wars and build their war machines ...all guaranteed to have the interest on the loaned money repaid by YOUR taxes. Once you understand the concept and the reality of it, it brings a whole new meaning to the quote "the love of money is the root of all evil"

As long as ammunitions are created, invented, improved, you will always have sick buyers for these items. The only people getting profit from war are those who sell guns and ammos.

All war does now is take from the poor and give to the rich.

Hmmm, you should look into that and see what I mean. Kind of makes you rethink who your letting run your country.
