Meditation definitely works. A few years ago I had a huge problem with stress and anger when I was lead by my "zen friends" to meditate. There are many different ways to meditate, you don't have to sit with your legs crossed and hum or anything like that unless you want to. Meditation frees your mind and releases you from the negative things that are surrounding you wither it is putting on your favorite song while you close your eyes or performing yoga, meditation comes in many forms. It has helped me immensely. When ever I am tired or annoyed I find my quiet place and paint myself a nice Serene picture. A picture where I am not on top of my boss choking him or screaming at the top of my lungs. It helps sooooo much. I don't freak out as much and on my breaks I have a way of unwinding.

Here are some sources to get you started on your way:

You can also go to any bookstore such as Barnes and Noble or Books a Million to find out more about meditation rooms and different types of meditation. GOOD LUCK!!!

Definitely - start with 5-10 mins, just sit, eyes closed, relax the body, let thoughts come and go - don't try to follow a thought.
Extend the time gradually...
Early morning and before teatime are best. Better not to meditate after a meal.

Find a local group to start off with - it's too easy to give up.

Definitely. I always meditate at the dentist as I can't stand the pain and it always works as long as the dentist and the nurse don't talk to me. I, sort of, think through it and out the other side.

I know that sounds a bit hippy trippy but that's how it works for me.

It depends on what you mean by "work." Meditation can actually help relax you and help you feel at peace or very creative. These are just things that happen when you are able to clear your mind.

Yeah, it works for me!
I used meditation to calm me down when i was studying for my exams and when i'd had a bad day.
It also helped my health. I have COPD and when i have attacks, i meditate, it helps to get my breathing under control without using as much medication.

Yes.Meditation works. It is based on the principle of concentrating. It is advantageous in cases of minor mental disorders, stress related problems, improvement of memory etc.It is attached to some religion unnecessarily. The effect of meditation on cardio-vascular functioning of human body is proved beyond doubt.Individual results vary.

yes it helps clear your mind, you can relax and be stress free even if its for the couple mins of your meditation exercise. You close your eyes, and you can even enjoy the sounds around you that you might not even notice....because your hearing is more in tune as well.

Not for me. I can't sit still and the harder i try to concentrate the more restless i get. I prefer tai chi or qi gong.

My man does it occasionally, focuses his mind and calms him down when he's in a bit of a grump and had a bad day.
