It is just like tossing the coin...Not all smokers will get problems. But majority get some problems or the other.
Likewise, all lung problems need not be due to smoking.
Following are the complications majority will get.
1. Allergic bronchitis.
2. Chronic infective bronchitis
3. Cancer of the throat
4 Cancer of the bronchi
5 Cancer of the lungs
6 In addition, there are other chances of other
organs getting affected due to the primary
problem in the lungs, which could be due to
smoking.

The result of smoking might be kidney failures, liver might go bad or fail, and/or possibly death. They might have programs about smoking and what it can do at hospitals or doctors. Really, almost my whole family smokes and I'm a second hand smoker and you know what, it affects me, along with our pets. Smoking can also help you, ask your grandpa if something happened to him in the past, that should help.

Read about it online. It's very bad and nasty stuff.
Some people are PLAIN LUCKY to not die from it (although your grandpa probably will).
All kinds of cancers and illnesses/disease are caused by smoking. Man, the list is endless!!

Don't do it yourself; you'll regret it big-time!
