lol @ "don't worry ive reported myself" That's efficient.

Anyhow, in answer to your question, I don't think there are any universally accepted terms. There are so many tabboos and conflicting emotions and politicized terms out there that what works for one person will be offensive to another. I used to prefer the term gay and couldn't stand labeling myself as a lesbian (even though the shoe fit), it just sounded so awful to my ears. I like the term dyke more, though I'm becoming more used to the word lesbian as well. However, others feel that "gay" only refers to male homosexuals and I think I'm in a minority liking the term "dyke." So, there you have it. I don't think there is a universally acceptable word for it.

lol@ reported yourself, what are you like? lol

the words that are universally accepted as alternatives to lesbian are probably not permitted in answers and would simply come out as asterixes.

my favourite alternatives are the one to do with beans, the one to do with carpets and the one to do with the dams they have in holland.

I had no idea that the word "lesbian" was offensive. What's wrong with it?
