I find myself, at the age of 27, incapable of enjoying simple ball games because of my inability to throw without appearing like a great big girl. People like to point this out to me but, when questioned, cannot seem to coach me in the ways of the masculine hurl, nor can they identify exactly what renders my attempts to chuck so downright ladylike.
So I ask you, how can I toss like a man and strike fear in the hearts of my rounders opponents?

That is a very sexist statement, how can you throw like a girl?
How can you define between a 'girl throw' and a 'manly throw'?
I hate people like you.
Think before you ask.

Hello . The fact that you curve balls don't curve or that heater just ain't what you'd like it to be can be traced to one simple deficiency . Actually , there are two . Those would be coordination and timing . In order to throw a baseball , football or even a rock into a pond , these two factors are needed for the delivery to to function with dignity. Your weight distribution on the push leg and the exact time of release need to be in sync or you can end up beaning someone sitting behind you and looking foolish . I would like to recommend martial arts . I don't mean that you should become the karate kid in order to gain an outwardly masculine appearance .Not at all. In fact there are countless styles to choose from and most are non-violent in their approach . What I think you will achieve the most is timing which will give you a new found confidence . This in addition to the fact that your body motions will be coordinated for each functional activity will produce a polished affect with regards to your throwing abilities . lets keep in mind that you will also find yourself in remarkable physical condition and although you may not become the next Nolan Ryan ...you'll look damn good trying. Good Luck !

Just because you can't throw properly doesn't make you less of a man. If you want to get better - practice makes perfect - try throwing the ball as high as you can into the air and catch it when it comes down - then get something to aim at, perhaps you just didn't get enough practice as a kid. Don't break yourself down and don't allow others to, you can be anything you want to be - attitude has a lot to do with it - just believe in yourself!!!

hahahahah! That really made me laugh. I laughed even more when you caused offence with the bloke up there!!
I'm a girl, I throw like one too so doubt I'll be any help. I have other methods (Of cheating) to win at rounders so probably will never learn to throw properly. Good Luck!!

get your self un a pec deck, and so some push ups, to strengthen your arm, do windmils, with weights.
A good throw, is where you draw your arm back in a straight line accross your chest and behind you to its full extent, pause slightly, then bring it forfard, your elbow to shoulder should remain level, at 90 to your body your elbow to hand being straight toward the sky, you should release the ball when your arm is approximately 45 degrees from being in line with your back..

Maybe do a bit of weightlifting and remember that throwing is all in the motion of the wrist.

Don't throw underarm, keep it close to the head, low and fast so that if it hits it will definitely hurt!

Practice. You don't say how you throw. (Okay, pardon me. You say you throw like a girl.) Underhand or overhand?
