No problems wearing a black summer dress after all its you that count not the clothes you wear.
Black looks smart at anytime, anywhere, any occasion. You need to consider the weight of the fabric as if too heavy will make you overheat if it is hot and sunny.
You can dress it up or down as appropriate. There are some wonderful accesories available that don't have to cost a fortune.
Word of caution - do make sure it is fluff free. If you have pets to wear back and see lots of pet hairs it looks awful.
Having said that I'd best go get dressed. May even wear something black.

It might look odd if you're a man. Black doesn't sound very summery to me though, best keep it for evening wear and funerals.

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't wear it.. it is called a sun dress mean to be worn in the sun.. however black in the sun can get you burnt .. i'm very light skin in color if i was to wear black i would be sun burnt to a crisp.. just wear what you like and enjoy...

go for it Soso! I have a black and white polkadot summer dress and I just adore it!!! I say its great, but if its solid black break it with some funky colourful beads, or a belt or shoes of some bright colour.

Sleeveless. Boatneck. Short. Long. Flair. Etc. What about accessories?
You could look very Audrey Hepburn or Queen Victoria, it all depends.

It's a summer dress so I think you should wear it if you want to. Don't worry about what other people think!

Black is cool , original so dare to wear it when ever you want but don't feel odd . If you feel odd in black don't wear it .

I doubt it would look odd, I mean you wear what you feel like. Theirs no set rules of day or night, so have fun!!!! Besides black is more slendering to one's figure.

You can wear it but I would advise you to accessorise with some bright colours. Handbag wrapped with scarf or nice pair of earrings. Don't be too dull. Throw a bit of colour in.

I dont think it looks odd at all, wear it with white, green, pink, blue, silver, red, purple or any other colour accessories and shoes to brighten it up if your worried.
