The biggest hurdle appears to be the unchecked population growth. The apparent lack of facilities for an ever increasing population, will render the great Indian dream, like so many in the past, just that, a pipe-dream. Long on ideas, but short on actual accomplishment.

nightmare would be the standard cliche, the whole sentence sounds pretentious, also check your use of tense on the word "provide(d)"

try '"disaster" or "hell" anything instead of nightmare.
