I've looked for the book The December Boys by Michael Noonan to buy, but all of the copies I've found online were over 100 dollars! Why is it so exspensive??

I read your question, and I decided to look for a copy of this book, and while it is $29.00 for a paperback copy, it beats $100. Check out the site: www.alibris.com. Hope it helps.

It is rare and therefore hard to find. It was originally published in 1960. I would just wait a year or two and there will probably be a reprinting thanks to the film currently in the works starring Daniel Radcliffe (known by most of us as Harry Potter).
