It is a part of the cosmic evolution in which the Universal Consciousness is menifest in matter, life, mind ,intelligence and then in bliss in an evolved stage. The human stage ranges from a living body with mind to that of bliss. The purpose of human life or birth in a human body is to fulfil the cosmic design of evolving from a state of mind to a state of bliss. Hence, we find different persons at different stages of their spiritual development as a consequence of this evolution. Once you attain the stage of bliss, there is no need to come in form of a life on earth since you merge from where you have come i.e. the Universal Consciousness.

This is the Indian tradition and philosophy on which Hindus believe since time immemorial of their civilisation and they think that the whole universe is the menifest form of the infinity from where man is apparently separated but really it is a continuum. What is real is not apparent and what is apparent is not real.

It seems u r quite confused. At one point u r asking the reason & at other, the purpose!! But from the prerspective of vast size of universe, I see them as one and will call it as purpose. Spiritually, we are born to be happy and make others happy too. Even if we look it from the view point of medical science, where you get the answer of your question about reason of birth, which is mating between two persons, ultimately two partners get happiness at the time of mating and after recreation of a new life.

So, you look it from any angle, it is this way: "The purpose of life is to become happy yourself and share that with others too."

Ha! I thought you meant, why are we given birth to as opposed to hatching from an egg. You would think eggs would be much more practical since the baby is outside the body and you can go on do your thing, until its ready to pop out.

I think we go through birth because our essences want to experience this world for whatever reason. We don't have to be encased in human flesh, but unfortunately(or fortunately) we are. The flesh helps keep us grounded and gives us a physical way to workout whatever it was that was bothering us in our previous form.
We keep working it out until we find out solution and when we do, we don't come back until we have another problem we can't figure out in our other form.

This is just a thought btw, not necessarily what i believe.

It is the instinct of every species to survive. Without creating more humans, we would die out pretty quickly.

It's quite simple if you consider humans to be animals. We are born because our parents mated. We evolved from a piece of slime on a rock, we live, we die. No afterlife, no meaning, no purpose, just biology.

Survival of the species and ultimately, the perpetuation of life. If you need more reason for your life, you'll have to add it yourself, it's not part of the package.
