Definately, and I don't care what people call me.

Racial profiling is not good enough; it is too crude a measure.
And I think you are confusing race and religion. For example I have not heard of many acts of terrorism conducted on western soil by people of say Korean origin; yet Koreans are Asians. On the other hand, race alone is not enough, the terrorists at Breslan looked 'white'; although it's not exactly the 'western world' it could very easily spill over.
What you actually need is a good algorithm to predict who are the people likely to get involved in terrorism. Sure, race/religion will be inputs into the equations, but will not necessarily be the only factors.
It would be something like when you fill up the questions when applying for a loan, the bank actually runs a standard equation and determines your credit-worthiness.
The same can be done for terrorism, just that the equation would not contain just information you'd provide. It's actually quite simple to do if you know what you are doing.
In your question itself your example compared race + age group + gender.

I think it's important to ditinguish the difference between profiling, and racial profiling. I would be completely against racial profiling, because the overwhelming majority of every race is as law abiding and peace-loving as you or I.
Where profiling has proved very useful, is in assessing the /behaviour/ of individuals when in places like airports. When someone is about to commit a terrorist act, they give off body signals which can be picked up.
I believe this approach to profiling, which does not take account of gender or race, will spot far more terrorists than racial profiling ever would. The racial approach would fail to single out radicalised white terrorists, for example.

incorrect, my stable guy. you will desire to recover from your anger and comprehend something. the only (examine: only) lively terrorists in the international on the instant are (examine: ARE) human beings from the middle East. The FBI rather lots rounded up each and every of the blond-hair, blue-eyed Tim McVeigh wanna-be's, after 19 April 1995. The some distance good skinhead communities are with the aid of-and-super contained. maximum black, white, brown and yellow human beings are comfortable with the racial profiling and are uninterested in being hassled on the airport purely as a results of fact our government is doing the 'gentle-feely, do no longer decide to offend all people' subject. hear, this is a tip for you - take a seem at what the Israelis do at their airports. whilst became into the final time that they had an incident in flight or on the floor? Oh, wait...did I offend you thru suggesting that Israelis would have a sturdy concept on the thank you to wrestle terrorism? Soooo sorry...that became into in all probability too ethno-centric to your gentle eyes. like it or no longer, the terrorists at the instant are not some African-American grannie (like the only I observed being worked over with the aid of the TSA goon squad on the San Diego airport) or some pimply-confronted white teen...it is gonna be some 20-something guy from the Mideast. it relatively is a certainty. it relatively is a certainty. it relatively is no longer racial profiling. And if it saves one life (of all people in any us of a of any religious or political concept) then I, for one, am for it. thank you for permitting me to precise my strategies!

I see your point, but on the other hand, terrorists are smart as well. The second we start going after Asians, then they will start using other groups for the attacks. Race does not define religion, as we have seen with the white Brits converting to Muslim extremism.
Unfortunately, in this case, a few extremists have ruined a fair bit for the entire culture and race. Suspicion is now everywhere as people are worried for their safety and sadly, often the entire race / religion is grouped together as the threat.

People dont realise that its not only asian men who r involved in this terrorist activities. If you had read the papers, one of the guys arrested last week was a middle aged white man who had converted a few years ago.. so it isnt rite to filter out asians when conducting searches...
but then what can we do...as much as anyone can argue bout this case, there will always be bias, and us asians will be discriminated against...

It's middle eastern. And besides, if I were a terrorist and saw that white and black people were getting through security without being searched, I'd be recruiting one of those to bypass that particular security measure.
Actually, if I were them I'd be putting timed explosives in the checked luggage right now, since airports haven't compensated yet for the increased capacity in checked luggage due to banning so much from carry-on. You don't even have to be on board to detonate them, the timer would set them off in mid flight!
Authorities knew about the liquid explosive threat for 10 years. Why did they wait until now to act on it, because the plot in the UK was foiled? What kind of security is that? "well, we know that we're at risk for these things, but we're not going to do anything about them until someone tries to explot them, and we maybe catch them."
Smart.

No more lenience, but it wouldn't harm to keep a closer eye on the ones who are obviously muslim. Imagine what it would be like if a bunch of white Christians started a suicide bombing campaign in Syria, any white person would be under (even more) suspicion.
What are we talking about here - a bag search? It's nothing really, I'd be happy to do it so long as my stuff was handled carefully and I didn't miss my flight.

Nothing is ever that cut and dried though. There are many Asian men that are good people, why should they be included? No matter how you look at things you can not decide things by skin colour. In order to create a balanced society one must impose balance therefore creating exceptions would only lead to more confusion.

No I don't think we should start racial profiling and it is not because of human rights etc... For a start not all terrorists are of Asian origin. Secondly once you start targeting an ethnic group all you will do is force the terrorists to start recruiting people from other ethnic backgrounds. What good is all the security then? By screening a mix of people from all ethnic groups, ages and genders then you are reducing the terrorists options.

I think Behavioral profiling would be best. Its what they use in Israel's airports and they haven't had a major event happen there for around 20 years.
Think about it, though the media would have you think other wise, the face of Islam is of many different colors and crosses sex lines. Extremist groups are not limited by something as simple as race, rather they are united across the boundaries of nations by their extreme beliefs.
