There were silent and unannoying like all other flies. I remember just watching them and thinking what is the point of flying around the same spot for hours! Doe's anyone else remember these creatures???

bloody hell! I remember them! I thought I was the only one who noticed!
They flew in a square pattern about one metre square, alway turning at 90 degree.
I don;tknow the answer but nice to have met you!

I remember them! Tiny little things that just kept flying silently in the same square and did really sharp corners...bizarre watching them, usually came in 3s or 4s (Why was that?)
I've not seen one for ages - although they maybe outside and don't like to fly squares round our light fittings any more (They were always at face height too...never higher never lower)

I think they were called "House flies" (Musca domestica) but with increased standards of hygene they are no longer a big feature of life.
I had to study the life cycle for "o" level biology.

Never thought about it til you posted your question, they did seem to fly in a square, but now they are all scatty seem to take aim at you!!
