it isn't allowed to life heavy things during a pregnancy because lifting takes effort and force. The muscles that contract are those of the lower body and shoulder. Lifting puts added force on those muscles that are connected to your stomach and lower body area. During lifting - the weight falls on your lower back, legs, hips - areas that are all interconnected to the muscles of your uterus. The force alone can abort a fetus.

Well don't do it again. You almost certainly have not hurt yourself but you need to take care, that's all. Lifting involves a lot of muscles in your tummy area. You shouldn't stretch or strain but you're not handicapped, you're just pregnant and I'm guesing early stages because if it was later stages, getting out of bed is enough heavy lifting for most women!

because you bones are weaker and under more strain when you are pregnant plus you could really damage your back and may do some harm to the baby.
if you are in pain i suggest you contact your midwife for a once over (better safe than sorry)
and i strongly suggest you leave all lifting till after baby is here and don't forget depending on your delivery your body needs a few months to adjust after birth and they say it actually takes about 2yrs to full recover from birth so no lifting after birth either for awhile

The stresses and strains on the female body during pregnancy are redistributed and it is not worth the risk.
That being said, during my second successful pregnancy, I moved furniture! Before that I miscarried at 13 weeks after bending down to pick up my handbag and twisting awkwardly.
If you were going to miscarry you would know almost immediately, I did. I got three tiny but distinct sort sharp pains and that was it.

It's strains the muscles and the uterus is one big muscle. It could cause miscarriage if you are not that far along or premature labour if you are.
Most times nothing happens though so don't fret about it. Just be more sensible from now on.

Miscarriage, pulled muscles and back. You need to look after your back during pregnancy, especially towards the end, think of all the extra weight it's carrying.
