Do you take a pillow when asleep than stop using pillow the tingling will stop .It is not serious problem .We remain in the same position for long periods of time in sleep that keeps pressure of our own body on the nerves coming out from the spinal cord pressed for long thus the sensation from your hand doesnot reach the brain making your hand feel numb for your brain dfor a sort period after waking up and will dissappear after sometime .I advice you to do neck muscles strengthning exercise or infuture the problrem will increase and you will also start feeling giddiness while getting up.Also check your eye sight for any difference in vision of the two eyes .If there is difference in both eyes sight you get your sight corrected or the problem will fast deteriote to pain in your upperback and neck.Good luck I would have liked to show you the exercises of neck but it is not possible to type the exercises.

Do you smoke? There is a disorder called buergers disease that causes circulatory damage in smokers only
Reynauds disease is also a circulatory disorder that causes numbness and tingling in fingertips also intollerance to cold
Carpal tunnel is another possibility
Does any of your symptoms occur at any other time of the day or during any other activity?
Could really just be the way you sleep too
See a doc for an accurate diagnosis

You may want to consider your pillows...If you have too much elevation of the head, it can possibly cause sufficient pressure on the nerve to the arms to cause the temporary neuresthesia you experience. It is always advisable to sleep with something under your neck rather than your head. There are special pillows just for that purpose.

I think it may be carpal tunnel syndrome. Mine started this way and progressed to severe night-time pain which would wake me from a deep sleep. Buy carpal tunnel hand splints and wear them at night. This may delay onset of worse symptoms.

I was told mine were circulation problems. Most likely carpal tunnel. There is a surgery you can have done if it is this (outpatient). It worked well for my Dad. Mine is not bad enough for surgery to be done yet.
