Is customer service really as rubbish as i hear?

well everyone i knw tells me ill do well livin in london its a ownderful comopilitan n vibrant city ...blah blah blahh... but i hear customer service is rubbish? is it really? i hear it takes about 2 weeks to get ur internet connected there? is it true? n that people miss livng n america cuz u get things done quickly (btw this was only one person so idk if tehr jus criticixing it or if its tre so ur help will help) lol

It is absolutely appalling!!! In the US we have a sense of taking care of customers so that they'll keep returning, but in London, I guess because there are so damn many people, they figure if they piss off one customer there will always be another one. It's especially bad in restaurants, b/c servers aren't tipped, so they do as little work as possible. People look at you like you're nuts if you thank a busdriver, or smile at a sales person. They think we Americans are just being "fake" nice. It's sad, really.

I don't remember having trouble w/ the internet, though, just everything else.

I am from London, and it depends what you mean by rubbish. Internet connection depends on what you ask for and what you pay for, if you want a fast connection try getting broadband.

It also depends where you stay are you planning to visit or to stay, as it depends on the situtaion.

It is one of the most interesting places you could every visit, but also has it's drawbacks.

Yep it's crap. Institutional customer service is really bad as there is lots of red tape in getting anything done. Retail customer service is shocking because you get a lot of really disinterested people working in retail.

Well, London is not as bad as you experienced. Couple of my friends got Internet connection on same day - as they made call.
